It was the day after New Years, and of course it happened to be one of the coldest days this winter. I know, I tend to talk about weather a lot in this blog, but it would be hard to say that weather doesn’t have a major affect on the setting and feel for a photo session, especially a January engagement session! We THANKFULLY got snow the day before their photos, which Kristin and I were hoping for, and made our way to Como Park, determined to make it through the afternoon while the sun was still shining. There’s a good chance the high that day wasn’t above 10 or 11 degrees, but I couldn’t be more happy with the way Kristin and Sean’s pictures turned out. If anything, the temp gave them a reason to cozy up even more, setting up for some really amazing photos. Thanks to BOTH of you for being willing to go out that day, it was great to spend the afternoon with you guys. I am so pumped for your wedding in June! What will we do when it’s actually warm out?! The possibilities are endless, and I can’t wait.
11.11.11 | Will + Ari Married
November 11, 2011 will definitely be a day to remember; not just for the ultimate opportunity to make a wish, but because Ari and Will had a beautiful wedding day in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico! It was such an incredible opportunity to be part of their special day, and I feel very honored to have been able to capture this time for them. I met Ari and Will just this last summer, and was instantly excited to be part of this day with them. The two met in college, as Will was working in the Career Services Center, and Ari was looking to up her resume. Luck would have it that Will was wanting to learn Spanish, and with Ari growing up in Mexico, it only made sense that they spend a little time together!! A couple years later, and here I am, jumping on a plane mid-November to shoot their wedding. It was a blast. Both families were so welcoming and warm, and it was so wonderful to celebrate this time for Ari and Will with them. Thank you again, you two, for allowing me to be part of your day. It was beyond amazing for me to be down there with you all, and I’ll never forget it!
Jim and Britt Engaged!
Being blessed by and incredibly large (and incredible) family, I’m blessed and thankful to be able to be part of special times and moments in each one of their lives; recently that way being taking photos, which is just fun. My cousin Jim is a year older than me, and started bringing Britt around the family probably like, 12 years ago. Haha, okay not 12 years ago, but since they were in highschool, she’s been with the fam. She is so sweet, and it has been really fun getting to know her over the years, and to now be able to call her fam is just great! They are both such gentle and kind people to be with, so it was great to spend an afternoon/evening together at Taylor’s Falls taking their photos. You guys are so great, and I’m thankful to have been able to spend time with you recently during such a fun and exciting time in your lives! Can’t wait for the weddin!
Kristin and Aidan Married
October 16th turned out to be a pretty windy day here in Minnesota, but that did not stop Kristin and Aidan from having a beautiful wedding celebration! I went to school with Kristin, and was honored when she asked me to shoot her wedding to her mountain man Aidan. The two met at a camp they both worked at in 2010, and there was no stoppin’ them! It was great to be part of their day at Elm Creek in a special and unique way, and a HUGE thanks to my extremely talented friend Nate Larson, of Capture Studios (yes, to all you crazy, obsessed followers, Capture. And, yes I’m part of that crazy, obsessed crowd) who came and shot with me for a few hours. And what would this blog post be without a quick shout out to Leah Dahl and Kelly Martin, my best gals, and the lovely ladies behind Daltin Designs who put together the darling CARDS basket you’ll see throughout the photos. It was really cool for all of us friends to be involved in Kristin’s day! Not only was it a blast to shoot, but to also make it in a few fun shots at the end. Enjoy!
The Vedders
Another year gone by, and Heather messaged me for some updated family photos. As soon as I saw her message in my inbox, my heart just smiled, because they are a beautiful family and such a joy to be around! Afterwards, as I was going through all the photos we took, I was literally giggling the whole time (and still might be at this moment) because this family of four (soon to be five!) has so much life in them that seems to be quite contagious. Thank you SO much for letting me take your photos, it was great to spend an afternoon with you guys!

Jenna and Jesse Engaged
It is safe to say that it has been a beautiful fall! One of my roommates, who is known for her love for weather forecasts, has told me time and time again that it was one of the warmest Octobers in over 40 years! Love Minnesota. One of those days, I got to spend a little bit of time with Jenna and Jesse, two down-to-earth beautiful people with a love for each other that is so fun to witness and come alive in the photos. It was great to spend some time with them, and hear about their hopes and dreams for their future together. Thank you both for letting me take your engagement pictures, it was a joy to capture you two together. Best wishes in your future together!
